Frequently asked questions about sickness benefits
How much sick pay do I get?
As an employee, you are usually entitled to 100% of your sick pay basis (your salary) up to a limit of 6G. Your employer covers the first 16 days of sickness absence, and then NAV takes over the payment.
What is the maximum limit for sick pay?
The government does not pay sickness benefit for income that exceeds the maximum limit. If you earn more than this, you will not receive sickness benefit for the excess amount. Some employers still choose to pay full wages during sickness.
