What is statutory overtime pay?

Hvordan regne ut timelønn fra årslønn?

To find your hourly wage, you divide the gross annual wage by the number of hours worked in a year. The standard in Norway for a 100% position with a 37.5 hour week (usually with 5 weeks holiday) is 1950 hours. If you earn NOK 600,000 a year, the calculation is 600,000 / 1950 = NOK 307.69 per hour.

Hva er lovpålagt overtidstillegg?

According to the Working Environment Act, you are entitled to a minimum of 40% additional to your normal hourly wage when you work overtime. However, very many Norwegians work in companies with collective agreements that provide better conditions - usually 50% on normal weekdays, and 100% for night work, weekends and public holidays.
